HOLD HARMLESS AND LIABILITY RELEASE WAIVER AGREEMENT:
I acknowledge that Crosby Taekwondo Warriors and Austen J. Reid strongly recommend that all tournament competitors obtain physical examinations from their physicians prior to participating in the tournament. I confirm that I have either received such a physical examination or have voluntarily chosen to waive this recommendation. I understand and fully acknowledge that participation in this tournament involves inherent risks, including but not limited to strenuous physical exertion, physical contact, falls, and other activities that may result in injury, permanent disability, or even death. I further recognize that these risks may be increased by the actions, inactions, or negligence of others involved in the tournament. I voluntarily and knowingly assume all risks associated with my participation in the Battle of Warriors Tournament, including those arising from the conduct or negligence of other participants or third parties. In consideration of my participation in the Battle of Warriors Tournament, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby knowingly, voluntarily, and irrevocably release and forever discharge Crosby Taekwondo Warriors, Austen J Reid, Battle of Warriors Tournament, Taekwondo Warriors of America (TWA) schools, First Baptist Church of Crosby, and all of their officers, directors, agents, employees, volunteers, instructors, students, representatives, and affiliates (collectively referred to as the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, or liabilities of any nature, whether arising in tort, contract, or otherwise, that may result from or relate to my participation in the Battle of Warriors Tournament, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or death. I acknowledge that this release applies regardless of whether the claim arises from the negligence, acts, or omissions of the Released Parties or any other individuals, except for claims arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct. I further agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all claims, actions, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to my participation in the Battle of Warriors Tournament, including those resulting from the negligence or misconduct of others. I also grant full permission for any photographs, video, or media taken of me in connection with the tournament to be used for promotional or publicity purposes by Crosby Taekwondo Warriors, Austen J Reid, or affiliated organizations, without compensation or further approval. I, the undersigned, do hereby voluntarily submit my application for registration in the November 14, 2026, Battle of Warriors Tournament. I understand that whether or not a current Agreement of Release is on file with a TWA member school, I am fully bound by the terms of this Waiver and Release of Liability. By signing below, I certify that I have read, understood, and voluntarily accept the terms of this agreement in full.
MINOR PARTICIPANT ADDENDUM & GUARDIAN INDEMNITY: If the participant is a MINOR (UNDER 18), I, the signed parent/legal guardian, agree to all terms in this Waiver on behalf of the minor. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with the minor’s participation. I accept full liability for any injury, damage, loss, or harm suffered by the minor during travel to, participation in, or return from the Battle of Warriors Tournament. I agree that neither I nor the minor will initiate any lawsuit or claim against Austen J. Reid, Crosby Taekwondo Warriors, First Baptist Church of Crosby or the released parties. I explicitly agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the released parties from any claims, lawsuits, damages, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising out of the minor’s actions or injuries, regardless of whether caused by the ACTIVE OR PASSIVE NEGLIGENCE, fault, or omissions of the released parties themselves, except to the extent caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the released parties.
