  • Bean has had many thorough investigations done by our vet on several occasions but unfortunately we have never found a definite diagnosis. It is possible that Bean is extremely intolerant or allergic to a lot of different foods and this is what has been causing his symptoms (lack of weight gain, severe diarrhoea and bloating). We have also noticed that Bean is obsessed with water - so much so that he drinks so fast, takes in a lot of air and his stomach bloats up (water intake will need to be closely monitored by his forever family). Through trial and error we have found a diet (butternut box) that has been working so well for Bean - he’s gaining weight and the upset tummies have completely stopped! However, the slightest change to this - even a crisp dropped on the floor sets him right back to square one which involved several nights in hospital. Bean’s potential forever home will need to understand that his diet CANNOT be changed and he will not be able to have treats or human food as the setback is extreme and just not worth risking.

As well as Bean having to remain on a strict diet he has shown signs of reactivity toward other dogs around food. He adores other dogs but not when there’s food involved. If Bean’s forever family have another dog they must have the facility to separate Bean at all feeding times

Bean really is a loving, playful and fun puppy but he’s going to need an understanding and committed home with breed experience to really help him thrive
