A program advancing the reading, math, strategy and social skills of Bis-Man area youth in grades 1-8 and 9-12 by teaching the Pokémon Trading Card Game and creating supervised fun, safe, interactive, and age-and-skill-based groups, where kids can celebrate all things Pokémon! BMYP meets every MONDAY from Jan. 11 to Mar. 22 from 6-8pm in Room 22 for general play and the Room 21 (or other larger rooms as needed) at the Bismarck YMCA for those learning the game.

IMPORTANT NOTICE & WAIVER - This is a waiver, license and notice of important participant requirements and rights. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

This registration is for the the Bis-Man Youth Pokemon Club (BMYP), a program open to Bis-Man area youth in grades 1-8 with at least basic reading and math skills and to kids in grades 9-12. Participant does not have to know how to play the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) or even have his/her own cards to participate. BMYP will provide loaner decks for those who have no cards so that they may learn and play.

By registering the Participant named above, you as parent or legal guardian have confirmed the following requirements are met and agree to and recongize the following:

1) THIS PROGRAM IS A TEACHING/LEARNING EXPERIENCE. Participant, if he/she does not know how to play the Pokemon TCG will be taught the game and provided tips and suggestions for gameplay by experienced adults. That is the focus of this group. Once taught, Participant can freely play the game on any meeting night with other participants. If Participant already knows how to play the game, he/she is free to play at the outset of the program with other participants of similar experience.

2) PARTICIPANT IS IN GRADES 1-8 FOR JUNIORS GROUP or 9-12 for SENIORS GROUP. Participant is enrolled in grades 1-8 or 9-12 at a local Bis-Man area school or is homeschooled and is regularly attending and learning on a daily basis, can function socially, and communicate needs and issues as they arise. Basically, this is not babysitting for children who cannot participate. Participants who are determined by BMYP staff to be unable to comply with instruction, or who are disruptive, or otherwise can't/don't participate will be removed from the program.

3) BASIC READING & MATH SKILLS REQUIRED. The Participant listed above is able to read, or is in the process of learning how to read and has basic reading skills, where he/she is able to sound out words and generally comprehend their meaning. Participant has basic math skills and can add and subtract numbers at some level.

4) TRADING IS NOT SANCTIONED OR REVIEWED. ORGANIZERS NOT RESPONSIBLE. BMYP, the Bismarck YMCA, and their sponsors, volunteers, employees and agents will not sanction or be responsible for any trades of cards or related items and disclaim any responsibility for trades made by Participant and other participants for real, fake, proxy, or unofficial Pokémon cards occurring during BMYP meetings. There are a LOT of fake, proxy and unofficial Pokemon cards and official Pokemon cards of varying conditions and values that show up, so basically, let your Participant know: TRADE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

5) STANDARDS OF CONDUCT. THEFT OF CARDS OR OTHER PROPERTY - INCLUDING LOANER DECKS AND CARDS OF BMYP VOLUNTEERS OR OTHER PARTICIPANTS - WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Theft, bullying, namecalling, physical altercations, threats, excessive cursing/vulgar language, cheating, deception, and/or fraud by Participant will result in his/her immediate removal from the program. There is no appeals process. Decisions of BMYP staff in any such matter are final. Basically, Participant will behave, play nice and be a good person for two hours each night, or he/she won't be able to come any more.

6. WAIVER & DISCLAIMER. While playing the Pokémon TCG is a generally safe activity, by clicking the "Submit" button below as your valid electronic signature, you as parent or guardian for yourself and all other parent(s)/guardian(s) of Participant, and for Participant, recognize the chance for injury or loss and hereby waive all rights to all claims of any sort (including but not limited to: personal injury of a physical or mental nature, damage to property, theft of property, inequitable trade of property, or otherwise) against the Bismarck YMCA, Bis-Man Youth Pokemon and their owners, organizers, volunteers, agents, employees, sponsors, and third-party providers. You also hereby consent to the reasonable and non-compensated use of the Participant's name, image and likeness and to contact at your provided information in the normal course for the promotion of the Bismarck YMCA, Bis-Man Youth Pokémon and their sponsors, in relation to BMYP and area Pokémon-related events, and consent to email, phone and digital contact by those parties in relation to Pokemon-related events and their general business. You hereby consent to a background check if you are not a YMCA member.
