As a result of recent school rezoning, your student's attendance zone has changed. To provide continuity, Beaufort County School District is offering students the opportunity to remain at their current school through the school's grade span.

Please note: If you choose the grandfathering option, transportation will not be provided by BCSD. To ensure timely arrival and efficient transportation services, bus routes will follow the new school attendance zones. Families who choose the grandfathering option will be responsible for all transportation arrangements.

By selecting YES, I understand:
- My student will be permitted to remain enrolled at their current school through the school's grade span, provided they remain continuously enrolled in Beaufort County School District.
- This grandfathering approval applies only to the student's current school and does not automatically extend to the next school level.
- Transportation will not be provided by Beaufort County School District. I am responsible for providing transportation to and from school.
- My student is expected to maintain satisfactory attendance, appropriate behavior, and academic performance. If my student accumulates ten (10) or more unexcused absences or unexcused tardies, receives any out-of-school suspension, or fails to pass at least seventy-five percent (75%) of his/her courses during a school year, the district may revoke this grandfathering approval and reassign my student to his/her residentially zoned school. Parents/guardians will receive written notice if these expectations are not met. Continued failure to meet these expectations may result in the student being required to return to the zoned school.
- If my family moves outside of Beaufort County, my student will no longer be eligible for this grandfathering option and will be required to attend the appropriate school based on the new residence.
- If I choose for my student to return to the zoned school at any time, this grandfathering approval will be forfeited and may not be reinstated.
- Grandfathering approval does not guarantee enrollment in specialized programs, magnet programs, or other choice programs.
