Cabooses, Lounge Cars & a 1951 Sleeper at the Fullerton Train Museum
All aboard, Bruins! Join local UCLA alumni, friends, and families at the Fullerton Train Museum, a collection of historic railcars on the house tracks beside the Fullerton train station. Volunteers keep every car in its "in service" condition. This is the Trains portion of our Planes, Trains, and Automobiles themed fall events. Please check out our other OC Bruins Bruin Brew coffee socials and Museum events.
Step inside three preserved cabooses, one from each of the transcontinental railroads that served Southern California: a 1929 Santa Fe, a 1942 Union Pacific, and a 1961 Southern Pacific. Cabooses, nicknamed "crummies," rode at the end of freight trains until 1989. Then relive the golden age of rail travel aboard two 1949 Union Pacific lounge cars in period décor and a fully restored 1951 Santa Fe streamlined sleeping car, from the days before Amtrak and jumbo jets.
Meet us at the museum at 10:00 AM, and we'll explore together until it closes at noon.
