Join disABILITYsa and The Backyard on Broadway for The Friendly Ghost Gathering on Saturday, October 31, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.!
We’re seeking 20 Trunk-or-Treat hosts to help create a welcoming Halloween celebration for guests of all abilities, complete with games, activities, a costume contest, and plenty of fun. Set-up will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m., with all stations ready before guests arrive at 11 a.m.
All hosts must review and acknowledge the disability-friendly materials provided and agree to follow the outlined protocols for welcoming and interacting with guests.
Please plan to offer both edible and non-edible treats, keeping food allergies and sensory sensitivities in mind so guests have options that meet their needs. Hosts offering non-edible treats must display a Teal Pumpkin to help families identify stations with non-food options for children with food allergies.
For treat ideas, explore disABILITYsa’s Amazon Wish List, which also includes the option to sponsor and donate items we will use as prizes for event games and supplies for activities.
This welcoming Halloween celebration brings people with and without disabilities together to build connections, enjoy shared experiences, and strengthen our community. A sensory room, accessible mobile changing unit, and edible and non-edible treat options help reduce barriers so more guests can participate. Your participation and support help advance disABILITYsa’s mission by creating opportunities for inclusion, connection, and belonging.
Thank you for helping make Halloween more inclusive, accessible, and fun!
