This 10-day workshop is designed to build or enhance the skills necessary to be an effective Single Resource Boss. Using classroom instruction and field exercises, participants experience opportunities to gain leadership capabilities and team building through group discussions, interagency cooperation, and work with individuals with a varied background. The workshop is administered using the Incident Command System (ICS).
Directions:
Before filling out this nomination form, please have a conversation with your supervisor and/or training officer about this event and make sure they support your nomination. Also, please inquire if there is a possibility of you brining a Type 6 engine, Crew Cab truck, and/or a UTV with water pumper that could be utilized during this event (any vehicles provided will for this event will remain under your control and be operated under your agency or organizations SOPs). If you provide a vehicle, your nomination will receive preference in this process. Please fill out one nomination per person (no group applications please). Then place a hold on your calendar from February 8th – February 17th (plus travel to and from the event) until you hear back from us (targeting early December 2026 for notifications). If you are accepted into this training, you will have 2 weeks to complete the payment process for the registration fees.
