• Membership Application

  • The LearningWell Coalition is particularly interested in educational experiences that contribute to students' long-term flourishing, including through the development of students’ sense of identity, purpose, belonging, agency, character, meaningful relationships, and other capacities that help students thrive in work and life.

    Successful applications will demonstrate:

    • Alignment with the LearningWell Coalition’s mission, values, and goals, with a clear focus on supporting student flourishing.
    • A focus on long-term wellbeing, with an understanding of how the experiences students have during college can contribute to their flourishing in work and life beyond graduation.
    • Meaningful faculty involvement and institutional integration. Initiatives should include meaningful engagement of faculty and/or faculty-student relationships, while also demonstrating how the work is becoming embedded within the institution’s culture, structures, and practices in ways that can be sustained through changes in leadership or staffing.
    • The potential to reach a broad population of students. LearningWell is particularly interested in approaches that can scale to serve a significant portion of the undergraduate student population, rather than initiatives designed exclusively for a small or selected group of students.
    • A thoughtful approach to assessment, including a plan to evaluate outcomes related to student wellbeing and flourishing.
    • Meaningful support from senior leadership, demonstrating that the initiative is connected to broader institutional priorities and has the commitment necessary to develop and grow over time.

  • Leadership Endorsement
    (Required for institutional membership)

Please provide a signed letter of endorsement from your institution's president or provost. The letter should describe how the proposed work fits within the institution's broader aspirations for student flourishing and whole-person development and affirm institutional support for participation in the LearningWell Coalition.

The Coalition also hosts an annual Presidents' Convening, bringing together higher education leaders to explore opportunities and challenges related to student flourishing. While participation is optional, the Convening offers a valuable opportunity for presidents to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and engage in conversations about advancing student wellbeing and flourishing across higher education. We encourage applicants to make their presidents aware of this opportunity
