• Apply to join the NYAAF Board of Directors!

  • Thank you for your interest in joining the New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF) Board of Directors!

NYAAF is currently seeking 4-6 new members to join our Board of Directors. NYAAF’s Board of Directors are responsible for setting NYAAF’s strategic goals, overseeing its fiduciary responsibilities, and working closely with the Executive Director (ED) to develop and implement the organization’s governance infrastructure.

We hope to build a Board that collectively brings a range of skills, perspectives, and lived experiences. While we do not expect any one applicant to bring everything we are seeking, we strongly encourage applications from people with the lived experiences, backgrounds, and skills highlighted in our Call for Board Members.

Before completing this application, please review the full Call for Board Members, which outlines the experiences and perspectives we’re especially seeking, along with important information about NYAAF’s mission, vision, and values; Board expectations and responsibilities; time commitments; and priorities for the year ahead.

We estimate that this application will take about 60 minutes to complete.

You can view a PDF version of the application here. The application may not save your work if you leave and return to it, so we recommend drafting your responses initially in a separate document as needed.

  • Please submit your application by 11:59 pm ET on Wednesday, November 4.

  • How have you been involved with NYAAF? (No previous involvement with NYAAF is necessary.)*

  • Demographics

NYAAF seeks to center the leadership of people who reflect our callers and community. We acknowledge that many of the questions in this survey originate from white supremacist capitalist patriarchy and may feel personal, fluid, and/or arbitrary. However, understanding who is represented on our Board helps us identify gaps and work toward elevating the leadership of historically undervalued communities. We approach this—and all that we do—from a place of humility and welcome feedback on better ways to capture this information. You are not required to disclose any demographic information you do not wish to share.
