Led by artist Vica Pacheco, ‘Songs for Combustion’ is a participatory sound workshop inviting audiences to discover the OO! ovens as musical instruments and living acoustic environments.
Participants will listen to the sounds produced by fire, steam, water, air, and heat—from steam-powered flutes and crackling wood to subtle vibrations and resonances—and experiment with recording, amplifying, transforming, and responding to them through sound, movement, voice, and improvisation.
Participants are welcome to bring a phone, musical instrument, laptop, recorder, microphone, or any other sound-making device, although no equipment is required.
