  • Meet the Nominees

  • Nominee number 1 - Beryl McMillan

  • Image field 7
  • BERYL has consistently volunteered to represent the community on the OC in a very professional way. This is not just in name only. She makes sure that all suggestions are followed up, she is present at most events helping in some capacity, she seeks out and encourages others to be involved in whatever way they can. Her personal knowledge of so many residents and their needs is amazing and if she is asked to follow up on anything you know it will be attended to.
Beryl uses her many skills and her wider Geelong connections to keep improving the community and neighbourhood.
The visiting of those in need and her work behind the scenes, which she does quietly and without fanfare, is commendable.

Beryl is always willing to listen to suggestions and will take them to the OC regardless of what she thinks personally about them. Many things have been implemented because she liases closely with Jodie so communication between the people and Quantum works extremely well.

She was a great help in setting up our craft and chat group which is very successful.
Several consequences of this group are:

    1. A place for some former isolated individuals to meet others and find a new purpose in life.

2 From this group many have been given the confidence to expand into other activities the club offers.

    3. If any of the group are having difficulties, they now have a support system within the community.

    4. Given some members a sense of purpose in reaching out to and contributing to the wider community through our Trauma Teddy project.

Beryl is such an asset to our community and deserves to be our champion!
