Spring 2027 SI Hold Release Form

International students, defined as all USF students who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents, must fulfill the health insurance mandate updated May 2026. Until students complete this requirement, they will have a Student Insurance (SI) hold, which will prevent them from registering for classes.

To register for classes, complete the information below. Your SI registration hold will be released within 1 business day.

Please note: The USF Sponsored Student health insurance (SHIP) premium will be automatically charged to your Student Self-Service account when the hold is released.

To indicate how you intend to satisfy the mandate for the remaining of the 2026-2027 academic year, you will need to complete the Health Insurance 101 Canvas course for International Students. You will automatically be enrolled in this course on or after November 15. Complete the course no later than December 11. Upon successful completion of the course, you will have the opportunity to select your preference in fulfilling the USF Health Insurance Mandate for Spring and Summer 2027.(If you successfully completed this course in Fall 2026, you will not be required to complete the course again for Spring 2027).

We encourage students to review the current health insurance mandate no later than December 11, 2026. USF Staff will be unavailable to answer questions from December 19 through January 3 during USF’s Winter Break.
