  • SHOW JUMPING - ROUNDS DESCRIPTIONS

    Event 1: Top Score

This tactical event challenges riders to accumulate the highest possible score within a fixed time limit (between 45 and 90 seconds).

    • Point System: Obstacles are scattered throughout the arena and assigned point values from 10 to 120 based on difficulty. Riders receive points only for obstacles cleared correctly; no points are awarded for knocked rails.

    • Course Freedom: There is no set track. Competitors may jump any obstacle, in any order and from either direction, as many times as they wish within the time limit. Start and finish lines may also be crossed repeatedly in either direction.

    • The Joker Fence: A high-risk, high-reward "Joker" obstacle is available and may be attempted up to two times. Clearing the Joker correctly awards a massive 200 points each time. However, knocking it down results in a 200-point deduction from the rider’s total score.

The competitor who accumulates the most points within the allocated time wins.

Event 2: The "Take Your Own Line" Scramble

This competition is a tactical speed event where riders determine their own track to complete a course in the fastest possible time.

    • Course Freedom: There are 5 numbered obstacles scattered throughout the arena. Competitors must clear all fences exactly once each, in absolutely any order or direction of their choosing, before crossing the finish line.

    • Continuous Timing: The stopwatch runs continuously from the moment the competitor crosses the start flags until they cross the finish flags.

    • Scoring & Faults: The event is judged under time-penalty rules. Knocked rails do not result in elimination; instead, a 4-second penalty is added to the rider's final stopwatch time for every fallen rail.

    • Refusals & Omissions: If a horse refuses, the rider must re-approach and clear that exact same fence before continuing. Forgetting to jump any of the 5 fences results in automatic disqualification.

The competitor with the fastest adjusted total time is declared the winner.

    Event 3: Chase Me Charlie

This classic knockout competition tests accuracy and scope over a single obstacle.

    • The Format: A single vertical obstacle is placed in the center of the arena with a long, straight approach. All competitors queue and take turns attempting to clear the fence at its starting height.

    • Advancement: Competitors who clear the obstacle correctly without faults advance to the next round. After every completed round, the judge raises the height of the fence.

    • Elimination: A competitor is eliminated from the competition if they knock down the rail or record a refusal.

The competition continues round-by-round until only one combination clears the final height to be declared the winner.
