    EVENT OVERVIEW
    The 4th Annual Holiday Black Bazaar at The HUB is the season’s biggest celebration of Black and Brown talent, entrepreneurship, and creativity. Presented by the Madison Black Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Urban League of Greater Madison, this indoors holiday market invites you to showcase your products, connect with the community, and join hundreds of shoppers celebrating the spirit of the season.

    Please note: Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. All applications will be reviewed by the Chamber and the Urban League, and applicants will receive a confirmation email on November 17th.

     

    APPLICATION TIMELINE
    November   2: Vendor Registration Opens
    November 13: Vendor Registration Closes
    November 17: Application Approvals 
    November 20:  Vendor Payments & Intake Forms Due


    EVENT TIMELINE 
    Friday, December 18
      4:00PM - 8:00PM: Preferred Vendor Move In

    Saturday, December 19
                       8:30AM: Alternate Vendor Move In
    11:00AM - 7:00PM: Bazaar Open to the Public 
      7:00PM - 8:00PM: Vendor Move-Out

     

    VENDOR REQUIREMENTS
    Vendors are responsible for setup and teardown during designated times. Vendors are strongly encouraged to set up on Friday, 12.18, from 4:00 - 8:00PM. Hired security will guard vendor tables and inventory overnight. Vendors unable to setup on Friday can set up at 8:30AM on the day of the event. We reserve the right to refuse vendors who miss the set-up windows, and vendor fees will not be returned due to tardy setup.  

    Vendors must staff their booths for the full event hours. 

    Special note for food vendors:

    • Food trucks and food carts are welcome
    • On site cooking is possible - you will work with The HUB's Commercial Kitchen Manager to sort through logistics.


    💡 WHAT WE PROVIDE
    In the leadup to the event, the Chamber and the Urban League will provide marketing and promotion through event listings and across all communication platforms.

    On the day of the event, we will provide each approved vendor with access to a vibrant, well-trafficked event space designed to highlight local Black and Brown businesses, as well as:

    • One (1) six-foot table, skirted 
    • Two (2) chairs

    We strive to create an organized, equitable, and visually cohesive event for all participants.

    If you require additional items or accommodations (e.g., extra tables, electricity, special placement, etc.), please indicate your request in the “Additional Request/Questions” section of this form.

    Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and approved based on availability. Additional fees may apply.

    Accepted vendors are responsible for paying vendor fees by November 20th. 

    • $35 – MBCC Members & ULGM Members
    • $50 – Non-Members

  • Does your business have a current Transient Food License from the Department of Public Health Madison and Dane County or another jurisdiction?
  • Do you have a current Transient Retail Food License issued by another jurisdiction?*

  • Appropriate and valid licensing will be required to participate in the Holiday Black Bazaar.

  • Does your business have a valid Seller's Permit from the WI Department of Revenue?*
  • Does your business primarily sell at trade shows, festivals, and pop-up events (such as the Holiday Black Bazaar)?*
  • Are your annual sales of merchandise below $2,000?*

  • Temporary sellers are exempt from a Seller's Permit if their total taxable sales in Wisconsin are less than $2,000 in a calendar year and their sales are isolated or sporadic. If these occasional sales exceed $2,000, or if the seller is engaged in business as a seller, a permit is required.
