INDEMNIFICATION, ASSUMPTION OF RISK & RELEASE OF LIABILITY

I understand and acknowledge that fostering animals involves inherent risks, including but not limited to animal bites, scratches, injuries, illness, disease transmission, property damage, and injuries to other people or animals.

I voluntarily accept and assume the risks associated with fostering an animal through Fort Paws Rescue, Inc.

I understand and agree that:

1. Assumption of Risk: I accept the risks associated with caring for, handling, transporting, and housing foster animals, including risks arising from an animal’s unknown medical history, temperament, or behavior.

2. Responsibility for Supervision: I am responsible for providing appropriate supervision, maintaining a safe environment, and taking reasonable precautions to prevent injury, escape, or property damage.

3. Release of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law, I release Fort Paws Rescue, Inc., its officers, directors, volunteers, representatives, and agents from claims arising from my participation in foster activities, except to the extent such claims cannot legally be released.

4. Indemnification: I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Fort Paws Rescue, Inc., its officers, directors, volunteers, and agents from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal expenses arising from my negligent or wrongful acts or omissions while fostering, including failure to properly supervise, secure, or control a foster animal, to the extent permitted by law.

5. Animal Behavior: I understand that Fort Paws Rescue, Inc. cannot guarantee an animal’s behavior, temperament, health, or compatibility with people or other animals.

6. Reporting Incidents: I agree to immediately notify Fort Paws Rescue, Inc. of any bite, injury, escape, serious illness, or other significant incident involving a foster animal.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I have read and understand this agreement. I voluntarily accept the risks associated with fostering and agree to the release of liability and indemnification provisions stated above.
