November 2026 Pediatric School-Based SIS Event
Learning Outcomes:
Attendees will be able to:
1. Describe the organization of the UDL Guidelines 3.0
2. Explain one way UDL aligns with the role of school-based OT, drawing on the OTPF-4, AOTA Vision 2030, IDEA, or ESSA/MTSSS.
3. Apply the UDL Guidelines to a provided case scenario.
School-based occupational therapists already use many UDL strategies, often without naming them. This session introduces the UDL Guidelines 3.0 and how they are organized. Participants will explore how UDL fits within OT's role in schools, connecting the OTPF-4, AOTA Vision 2030, IDEA, and ESSA/MTSS.Through a guided group activity, participants will apply the guidelines to a case scenario of their choice across MTSS and special education and leave with practical strategies to use in their own practice.
About the Speaker:
Missy serves as a Specialized Instructional Support Personnel (OT/AT) in an urban Connecticut district and is passionate about inclusive education and expanding OT's role.
