• The Planning Table

by Carina Erdmann & Steph Holl-Trieu
  • The Planning Table is a 3-hour role-playing game in which participants inhabit the antagonism between the desire for and resistance to systemic change. Initially, the game starts by running an economic simulation.

Over the course of the game, participants, as members of a speculative council, are asked to amend the rules at play. The session concludes with a reflection on the proceedings of the game, how these were conditioned by its rules and what consequences the rule amendments would carry if they were translated from the game world into principles and laws that govern our current economic systems.
