The Listening Room by TOKYOLISTENING is an intimate hi-fi vinyl listening experience where musicians, collectors, archivists & artists share the records that shaped them and the stories behind them, exploring the power of communal listening, connection & belonging.
In the 1990s, the record shops in Shibuya's back alleys gave birth to Shibuya-kei: a sound made by independent creatives whose love for music carried it to the world on its own. TOKYOLISTENING plays Shibuya-kei records and shares stories from inside the scene, joined by selectors Philip Soultrotter and the friends, to ask: what is Abu Dhabi-kei?
