As part of Transcona Community Church's (TCC) commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for children, youth, and other vulnerable individuals, all adult Reading Buddies volunteers are required to provide three references.

These references help us assess your character, reliability, and suitability for working with children and youth. Please choose individuals who know you well and can speak to your personal character, integrity, and ability to work appropriately with minors.

References must be adults who are not immediate family members. They may include current or former employers, supervisors, colleagues, coaches, community leaders, mentors, or personal references.

Please ensure that each person is aware that you have listed them as a reference and that a member of the Reading Buddies team may contact them.

Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
As part of Transcona Community Church's (TCC) commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for children, youth, and vulnerable individuals, all adult volunteers with Reading Buddies are required to complete the appropriate screening process.

This includes providing a Police Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check, as required by the program's safeguarding policies.

If you already have these documents, please indicate whether they are available and when they were completed. If you do not currently have them, please indicate whether you are willing to obtain them as part of the volunteer application process.

TCC will provide further instructions regarding the required documents and how to obtain or submit them. Please note that volunteer approval is conditional upon completing all required screening and approval steps.
