Event volunteers serve in public, group settings under the direction of a YHM event leader. By signing below, I agree to the following. I will follow the event leader's directions and YHM's safety rules. I will treat every guest with dignity and respect, regardless of age, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or circumstances. I will never be alone with a minor. I will not ask for, give, or exchange phone numbers, social media, or other personal contact information with a minor. I will not drive guests or transport anyone for YHM unless YHM approves it in writing. I will keep guests' names, personal information, and stories private. I will not photograph or record guests unless YHM gives permission. I will tell the event leader right away about any concern for the safety of a child or a vulnerable adult. If I suspect that a child, an elderly person, or a vulnerable adult is being abused, neglected, or exploited, I will also report it myself: in West Virginia, to Centralized Intake at 1-800-352-6513; in Florida, to the Florida Abuse Hotline at 1-800-962-2873. If anyone is in immediate danger, I will call 911 first.
I volunteer at my own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release Youth Haven Ministries Inc. and its directors, officers, staff, and volunteers from claims for injury, illness, or loss of property arising from my volunteer service and caused by their ordinary negligence. This release does not cover gross negligence or intentional misconduct. I understand that YHM does not provide insurance for volunteers. If I need emergency care during an event, I authorize YHM to call for help on my behalf.
