Here, the hedge was God’s supernatural protection around:

• Job himself
• His family
• His possessions

God’s commandments and principles act as a hedge that keeps people from harm. Satan acknowledged that he could not touch Job while the hedge of God was in place.

“Whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.”
- Ecclesiastes 10:8

This suggests that stepping outside God’s protective boundaries can expose a person to danger. The Hedge is established for Intercession and repairing

“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land...”!
-Ezekiel 22:30

Many believers pray, “Lord, place a hedge of protection around me and my family,” drawing from the imagery in Job 1:10.

Interestingly, the Hebrew word often translated “hedge” in Job 1:10 is “suk” (שׂוּךְ), meaning to fence in, cover, protect, or surround. It paints the picture of being completely enclosed by God’s care.

To “make up the hedge” means to rebuild spiritual protection through repentance, prayer, and intercession.

The Hedge is not a one-time consultation it is an ongoing relationship of covering. You must come fully committed, willing to stay in the process even when it is uncomfortable, and understanding that breakthrough is a journey, not an event.

Dr. Bynum does not operate from personal opinion. She ministers as God instructs, session by session. You are asked to submit to that process even when it does not look the way you expected trusting that the instruction is coming from the Lord and not from man.

Scripture is clear that the tithe belongs to the priesthood those called to stand in the gap and minister on behalf of others. As part of The Hedge, members are asked to remain faithful in their tithes.

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." — Malachi 3:10

Members must attend all required Hedge Zoom sessions. These corporate covering calls are scheduled and communicated quarterly. Attendance is not optional it is part of what keeps the hedge intact.
