Modern organisations face many challenges in todays competitive business environment. Companies that fail too adapt often experience a decline in productivity, employee satisfaction and proftability. Many managers focus on short term results however they overlook the importance of investing in staff development. Research have shown that employee's who recieve regular training are more engaged and perform better than there counterparts. Furthermore, effective communication between management and staff can also significantly improve workplace morale. Unfortunately many organisations does not provide suficient opportunities for feed back. In addition to training and communication organisations should also encourage innovation. Employees who feel valued is more likely to contribute new ideas which can help businesses remain competitive. Although implementing these strategies require time and resources, the long term benefits generally out weight the costs.
