  • MONTESSORI FOUNDATION PROGRAM  WMS offers a three year Montessori Foundation Program from Preschool through Kindergarten. Families applying to the Casa Program should be prepared to complete the full cycle, including the Kindergarten year.

    AGE REQUIREMENT Children must be at least 30 months old at the time of entry.

    TOILETING INDEPENDENCE. Children should be able to use the washroom independently or be very close to independence at the time of entry.

    ADMISSIONS. We offer rolling admissions throughout the year until all available spaces are filled. Once capacity is reached, families will be placed on the Reserve List.

    RESERVE LIST. Families on the Reserve List will be contacted if a space becomes available for their child.

    The personal information collected in this application is used to assess the applicant’s suitability for admission, communicate with parents and guardians, maintain school records and meet applicable licensing, administrative and Ministry reporting requirements. Westside Montessori School collects, uses and protects personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and applicable independent school and child care requirements in British Columbia.

    Kindergarten Program 

    Westside Montessori School operates as a Group Three Independent School. We are not required to hire BC-certified teachers nor teach the BC curriculum. A curricular review is not included in Group 3 Ministry Inceptions.

    However, our Kindergarten program is delivered through a Montessori framework while also incorporating the learning areas of the BC curriculum. WMS employs qualified educators, including teachers who hold BC teaching certification.

    Families are encouraged to speak with the school if they have questions about the Kindergarten year, curriculum or reporting.
