CCNY’s Office of Research Compliance & Ethics (RCE) aims to uphold the mission of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at CUNY by liaising with CCNY’s researchers to inform, guide and ensure adherence to the University research policies in the conduct of research. Requirements for Grant submission:
CCNY researchers are expected to comply with the following policy and make available the noted documentation prior to submitting a new proposal request to the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs:
Responsible Conduct of Research
All investigators engaging in research are required to complete the CITI training in Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR). See CUNY's RCR Policy.
IMPORTANT: All researchers submitting proposals through the Grants and Sponsored Programs (GSP) Office must ensure that a valid RCR certificate is on file prior to submission of their proposal. If the certificate is not furnished within three (3) business days of the proposal's deadline, the proposal will not be approved for submission.
To register for the CITI RCR Training:
- Go to https://www.citiprogram.org
- Register or Login (if already registered) [USE CCNY EMAIL ADDRESS].
- Select City College of New York as the affiliated institution.
- Navigate to "Institutional Courses."
- Follow the prompts until "Take the Responsible Conduct in Research course" is an option (Question #2). Select this option.
- Choose CUNY Researcher for Question #5.
- Begin the course. There are 9 modules in total. You must compete all 9 and pass the quizzes at the end of each module.
- Completed certificates should be shared with your assigned Grants Administrator. The certificate is valid for 4 years.
