Three Accepted Sources for CCE
I. ICF Approved Training- includes the following with no restrictions on the number of hours that may come from this source:
-CCE hours delivered by an ICF Chapter
-CCE hours delivered by an approved ICF provider
-CCE hours delivered during an ICF Regional or Global Conference
-Training hours from an ICF ACSTH or ACTP
-Special projects and activities approved in advance by ICF
Supporting documentation: for CCE hours earned from ICF Approved Training, a copy of the certificate, letter, email, or conference passport issued from the provider that shows the name of the event/class, date, amount and type of CCE is required to be uploaded as a part of this application.
II. Other Training- includes the following:
-Training that has not been approved in advance by ICF involving live, voice-to-voice interaction between instructors and students
-Serving as an instructor for coach training (one time delivery of content)
-Serving as a Mentor and/or Supervisor
-Developing training curriculum that has been submitted to ICF for approval as CCE, ACSTH, ACTP
-Published writing (does not include social media postings i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
-Published peer-reviewed research
Supporting Documentation: for CCE hours earned from Other Training, a description of the activity and documentation verifying completion is required. This documentation may include a course description, syllabus, abstract, or summary along with letters, certificates, or some other documentation verifying completion that includes the name of the activity, date, amount and type of CCE. If you serve as an instructor for coach training, a letter from your supervisor on the training organization letterhead including the name of the course, date, amount and type of CEE is required. If you serve as a mentor/supervisor, a letter including the client name, contact information, dates, and number of hours is required. For curriculum development the date that the training was submitted to ICF for review as a CCE, ACSTH, or ACTP is required. For published writing and peer-reviewed research documentation verifying the publishing date is required. These supporting documents must be uploaded as a part of this application.
III. Self-Paced Courses and Other Self-Study (limited to 16 hours in the area of Resource Development)- includes the following:
-Activities outside of those included in sections I and II above that relate to resource development. These may include reading, writing, research, and other experiences.
-Archived ICF Virtual Education Sessions (for ICF Global Members only)
Supporting Documentation: to claim CCE hours for Self-Paced Courses and Other Self-Study, you will be asked to provide summary information of your activities and how they contributed to your development as a coach. For archived virtual sessions please enter the name of the session in the self-study section of the renewal application.
