• How would you answer this man?

• "I've heard Christians talk about God as a Trinity. What do they mean?"
Introduction to the Trinity
• If you ask most Christians to explain the Trinity, they will probably use some kind of analogy. They might say that God is like:

1. - An egg. The one egg is made up of three parts (shell, white and yolk).
2. - A clover. The one clover is made up of three parts.
3. - Cerberus the three headed monster.

• We will see in the upcoming studies that these analogies are very inadequate. The problem with analogies is that the Trinity is unique. There is no analogy, and so all attempts to use them fall short of truly describing the Trinity. Analogies do more harm than good.

• Are there any analogies that you like to use? If so, what are they?
Introduction to the Trinity
• It is best to think of the Trinity in terms of the three following statements.

• THE TRINITY

1. There is one God.

2. The one God exists as three distinct, simultaneous persons (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit).

3. Each person is fully God
Introduction to the Trinity
• In this meditation, we have had a brief introduction to the idea of the Trinity. In the next meditation, we will continue by exploring the first of the three Trinitarian statements: There is one God.

Until then may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
