Your Excellency,

Following the announcement by the Nobel Foundation that the Nobel Peace Prize 2010 was awarded to Liu Xiaobo, that since the 25^th December 2009 is serving a 11-year sentence accused of "inciting subversion of state power", we once again call on Your Excellency for his immediate release, without conditions. According to Amnesty International, Liu Xiaobo is a prisoner of conscience, imprisoned solely for his work as a human rights activist, namely for having co-authored Charter 08.

Liu Xiaobo´s wife, Liu Xia is illegally under house arrest, after having visited her husband in prison to inform him that the Nobel Peace Prize was attributed to him.

I urge Your Excellency to  immediate and unconditionaly release Liu Xiaobo and  end of  the domiciliary detention of his wife, Liu Xia.
