A foster home is a temporary home for one of our Rotties until a permanent home is found for the dog. A foster home provides the love and shelter for the dog while SSRR provides and pays for all medical needs. Fosters provide the home, love and food. Being a foster home is not easy. Taking a Rottie into your home, caring for him, loving him, and then letting him go to a new forever home can be very difficult. But, fostering can also be the most rewarding and fulfilling thing a true dog lover can ever do to support dogs in need.

Fostering a dog is a commitment to a LIFE!. It should not be taken lightly as we do not take it lightly. This is a life that you are asking us to entrust you with. Fostering is also a commitment of time that you will spend with the dog you foster, making him/her part of your family. Some dogs are adopted in 30 days (the minimum amount of time a dog must be in foster care) while others take longer. If you do not have the time to spend with a new dog or cannot make the commitment then please do not submit this foster application.

"I/we hereby state that neither I/we nor anyone in my/our household, nor anyone who will have access to or care for this dog, has ever been charged with or convicted of any offense involving animal neglect, abuse, or cruelty, regardless of any dismissal or deferred prosecution or other expunging of the records. I/we understand and agree that if this statement is found to be incorrect, without further evidence of any other contract violation, the Rescue may immediately obtain return of all animals fostered by me/us, without refund of any sums paid, donated, or expenses incurred. Further, it is agreed that I/we shall pay all costs of the recovery and return of said dog(s) incurred by said Rescue."
