    Welcome!
Thank you for choosing Baby Bear Family Daycare as your child’s second home. We are excited to care for your child and look forward to getting to know our new friend. As you begin this journey with us, please review the following important information to help ensure a smooth start.

  • Sign In/Out PIN Numbers

Parents are required to sign in and out each day. For your convenience and security, each parent is assigned a unique sign in/out PIN number. Please use these numbers each day when dropping off or picking up your child.

If you forget your PIN, it is written inside your child’s cubby box.

  • What to Bring to Daycare

Please send a backpack each day with the following items (you can swap them out when the season changes or as needed):

    • Complete change of clothes, including socks and underwear.
    • Seasonal clothes; sweater, gloves, a hat, mittens, bathing suit (preferrably long sleeve protective swimwear), swim diapers if applicable.
    • Please send your child's lunch with an ice pack. We’re happy to warm, reheat, or cook any food you provide. Just be sure to follow our restricted food list, as some items may pose a choking hazard.
    • Whole grapes, cherries, melon balls, grape/cherry tomatoes.
    • Specific Berries: Kiwi berries, raspberries, blackberries, goji berries (unless baked in a muffin or pancake).
    • Fish/Meat with bones.
    • Hot Dogs/Sausages Links: No whole or rounds.
    • Popcorn.
    • Hard Vegetables: No raw vegetables (e.g., carrots, celery).
    • Peanuts/Nuts/Seeds: All prohibited. (e.g., sunflower, pumpkin).
    • Marshmallows or Marshmallow Fluff.
    • Whole Olives.
    • String cheese or large chunks of cheese.
    • Nut/Seed Butters: Prohibited unless served spread on bread.
    • Hard Candy/Lolli Pops/Chewing Gum.
    • Dried Fruit/Meat. Examples include raisins, cranberries, and beef jerky.

Please keep these items, if applicable, at the daycare and replenish them as needed. We’ll let you know when supplies start to run low:

    • Sleeve of diapers
    • Wipes
    • Baby bottles (at least 3)
    • Pacifier or 2.
    • Infant formula.
    • Infant foods; jarred or pouches.
  • Required Medical Records

Pllease make sure to upload the following medical records before your child's first day.

    • Proof of physical exam (within the past year)
    • Current immunization record
    • Lead test with results (within the past year)

  • Food and Drinks

To avoid potential allergy risks, and to be fair to others, children are not permitted to carry any food, snacks or beverages inside.

    Breakfast

Please serve breakfast at home. The daycare will provide two (or more) snacks daily, along with unlimited whole milk, juice, and water, unless your child has a food allergy.

  • Important Procedures and Guidelines
To help reduce the risk of illness and viruses, all drop-offs and pick-ups will take place on my front porch. When you arrive, please ring the bell by the cubbies, and I’ll come out to meet your child.

Illness If your child shows any signs of being sick, please check in with us before bringing them to care. You can find specific reasons to keep your child home in the Parent Handbook.

  • Emergency Contacts/Allowed Pick Up
For the safety of all children, it is essential that you keep your list of approved Emergency Contacts up to date in your Brightwheel App. Only individuals listed as Emergency Contacts or marked as allowed pick-ups will be permitted to pick up your child from daycare. Each of your designated pickup contacts must have their own unique PIN number, which is required for signing your child in and out of care. We cannot release your child to anyone who is not listed or does not have a PIN. Keeping this information current helps us maintain a secure and organized environment for all families.

  • Inclement Weather
In the event of hazardous weather conditions, we follow the closure and delay schedule established by the Tewksbury Public School system. For timely updates regarding any changes, please refer to your local news station. You may also visit our Inclement Weather page for more information.
