On Wednesday April 9 at 7:00PM, the Charlottesville community will have the opportunity to meet, vote for, and celebrate dozens of local artists, entrepreneurs, and inventors at a crowd funded and community chosen pitch night. One of them might be you.
In this 3rd Annual event at the Tom Tom Founders Festival, entrepreneurs, artists and innovators will have just three minutes to pitch their idea and win over the crowd.
The audience has each chipped in $10 at the door, which buys entry and a vote to cast toward the winning idea. The winner elected can either (1) take the crowd-funded cash pot or (2) take the final slot in the i.Lab at U.Va., located at the Darden School of Business, which comes with a $5,000 stipend.
The W.L. Lyons Brown III Innovation Laboratory, or i.Lab for short, is a world class innovation facility including a startup incubator that begins with a 10-week accelerator, followed by a 1-year program including access to world-class incubator workspace and programming, as well as access to Darden professors, resources, and community mentors. In brief, the i.Lab is an opportunity to build a business from the ground floor and position it for success. The winner must commit to the 10-week i.Lab summer accelerator program and other i.Lab Incubator related activities to receive the $5,000 stipend.
