You're almost done! The W4 form must be completed by all current and new employees. It is a 2-page document, but all Butler requires you to complete is the bottom half of the first page (lines 1, 2, 3, 4 5, 6, 7, and a signature). If Butler has your Social Security number on file, do not feel obligated to fill line 2 in.
The form looks complicated, but it is all to help you figure out how many allowances you are claiming line 5. Here's the short version: if you are still supported by your parents (a dependent), you can claim 0 allowances, so fill in a 0 for line 5. If you are not a dependent, and your only job is Butler, you can claim either 1 or 2 allowances, but depending on your annual income you may owe taxes at the end of the year if you select 2.
For any other situations, read the instructions and fill out the personal allowances worksheet to calculate how many allowances you can claim.
As a default, you are set to 0 allowances. Fewer allowances mean more federal income tax gets taken out of each paycheck. It is okay to remain at 0 allowances even if you could claim more. You will get a bigger tax return at the end of the year.
