  • If you run into cat training or behavioural problems with your pet, are you willing to contact our director, Rory O'Neill (Professional Animal Behaviourist, Trainer, and specialist in Rehabilitation) or another professional to help with the situation?*

    Rory O'Neill offers discounted rates to our adopters for in-home consultations, as well as phone consults for adopters out of the area.   • TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    SPAY/NEUTER: If a pet has not yet been spayed or neutered upon adoption due to its age, pregnancy, or other reason, $150 refundable deposit is required and a pre-determined date for spay or neuter will be set. After spay/neuter, adopter is asked to scan us the spay/neuter certificate and the deposit refunded via an e-transfer.

    TRAINING: Adopters agree to educate their pet by using humane methods, implement rules and boundaries from day one, maintain fair leadership, and contact an experienced professional for advice if needed. Many adoptions include a training consult with Rory O'Neill, professional dog behaviorist and trainer. Adopter's receive a discounted rate for private in-home consultations if in the area and phone consults if out of area.

    RETURNING A PET: Adopted pets can be returned, however, space may not be available immediately upon adopter's request. If a behavioral issue, a consult will be scheduled at a discounted rate to try and resolve the problem prior to return. R-mar will refund the cost of a pet within ten days of adoption minus $150 for time involved with emails, phone calls, adoption day and return process.


    RELEASE OF LIABILITY: Adopters understand and agree there are no guarantees regarding the health or temperament of dog or cat and agree to assume risk of loss, injury, and damage to other people, pets or property. Adopter's agree to be solely responsible for the pet(s) and to indemnify and hold harmless Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue, Rory O'Neill, and all volunteers associated with the rescue organization from claims of liability for the conduct of this animal on this date or during a trail basis. This Release of Liability and indemnification shall apply to all known and unknown damages or costs resulting from the adoption, ownership or control of such animal(s).

    ONCE THIS APPLICATION IS SUBMITTED: We will review your application within a day or so. If you do not hear back within two days, please email us inquiring if we received your application as we receive hundreds of emails a week and applications can be missed.

    We update our website often, so it's possible that we may be inbetween listing a pet as Pending or moving to Happy Endings; a pet my be in the adoption process as you send in your application. We apologize in advance if this is the case, and will let you know.
