Don Forest Service Award
"An Award for Significant Service to the Club"
This Service Award was instituted in 2001; the name of the award was changed to the Don Forest Service Award in 2004. Recipients of this award receive a Don Forest Service Award plaque with their name and year awarded.
This award is presented to members of the Alpine Club of Canada who have given significant service to the Club, either on a voluntary basis or exceeding the value of the remuneration in one of the following areas:
1) Furthering the aims of the Club or Section, or
2) On a committee or project of the Club or Section, or
3) Contributing to a large undertaking of the Club or Section, or
4) Towards the activities of the Club or Section.
It is intended that this award be given to members as recognition of their first efforts in providing service to the ACC. The Don Forest Service Award would usually be awarded to members before they are considered for the Distinguished Service Award.
Nominations for this award may be made by any ACC member on this nomination form no later than December 31st. The Awards Committee will evaluate and present the submitted nominations to the Board of Directors prior to the Annual General Meeting. Approval of a nomination requires not less than two-thirds of the voting members of the Awards Committee. Award recipients will receive their award at the AGM or in some other suitable manner.
