Distinguished Service Award
"An Award for Distinguished Service to the ACC in Matters other than Mountaineering"
The Distinguished Service Award was instituted in 1970.
The Distinguished Service Award is presented to members of the Alpine Club of Canada who have given outstanding service to the ACC either on a voluntary basis or exceeding the value of their remuneration for a period of at least five years in two or more of the following areas:
1) Furthering the aims of the Club or Section, or
2) On a committee or project of the Club or Section, or
3) In providing leadership of a large undertaking for the Club or Section, or
4) Towards the activities of the Club or Section.
Nominations for this award may be made by any ACC member on this nomination form no later than December 31st. The Awards Committee will evaluate and present the submitted nominations to the Board of Directors prior to the Annual General Meeting. The successful nominees must have a favourable vote of not less than two-thirds of the voting members of the Board. Award recipients will receive their award at the AGM or in some other suitable manner.
