    50 dollars is only a suggested amount, you can give more! Just highlight the box then put in your amount.

     Your donation will help pay for Jane's campaign expenses. The following are just examples:

    $750.00 (maximum contribution) will buy 10,000 pieces of literature.

    $500.00 will buy one placement of print advertising.

    $250.00 will buy 50 lawn signs.

    $100.00 will buy software.

    $50.00 will buy hosting

     

    The Donation Rules

    There is a $1,200 limit that applies to contributions from  individuals. If a person makes more than 1 contribution (e.g. contributes money, contributes goods, and purchases a ticket to a fundraising event), the total value of all the contributions cannot exceed $1,200.

    The maximum total amount that a contributor can give to candidates in the same jurisdiction (i.e. running for the same council ) is $5,000.

    A business, trade union or organization cannot donate to Jane's campaign. Only individuals.

    Only a contribution that is $25 or less can be made in cash. All contributions above $25 must be made by cheque, money order or by a method that clearly shows where the funds came from (such as certain debit, credit or electronic transfer transactions).

    The name and address of a contributor under $100.00 is not listed in the official financial statements, but a record must be kept. 

    Your on-line receipt is your offical receipt. Unfortunately, you cannot claim municipal campaign contributions on your income tax.
