• AAEA Symposium Proposal (online form)

  • AAEA Symposia focus on a specific theme within the field of agricultural and applied economics and last for two to three days with expected attendance ranging from 50 to 150 participants. If needed, AAEA will provide logistical support for approved symposia. The organizing committee will ensure high quality content and will secure outside funding if the latter is needed in order to bring in plenary speakers, etc. The precise format of each AAEA Symposium will be determined by the organizers, but should include a mix of plenary speakers, parallel sessions and potentially poster sessions as well.

If your proposed event fits this description, please use the template below to submit a proposal for consideration by the AAEA Board. Please refer to the AAEA Professional Workshops page or the AAEA Endorsed Events page for information about other event formats that the AAEA Board may develop

  • AAEA staff will work with you to develop a budget for your Symposium, and will do their best to have it meet that budget.  Any changes to the Symposium after the fee has been published may not be granted due to budgetary restraints.

AAEA staff will work with the organizers to promote this Symposium to all appropriate audiences. If there are audiences outside of the AAEA membership that you would like to reach, please include that information in the Target Audience section of this template.
