Tyler Photography BFA Intern Request Form
OVERVIEW & PROCESS
If you have a Field Internship opportunity that might be suitable for a Junior or Senior Tyler BFA Photography student, we'd love to know about it! Field Internships are a wonderful opportunity for professional organizations to work closely with eager and capable Tyler Photography students. They're also ideal for our students to gain access and insight into areas of the discipline that they're thinking about pursuing as a career.
Please note that Field Internships must provide practical experience for the student in a setting which is relevant and useful for the student’s course of study, such as in a gallery, museum, photography studio, community arts center, etc.
Please fill out the form below and your information will be made available to Tyler Photography majors on a private internal website. Upon completion, you'll see a confirmation web page as well as an e-mail follow-up contact within a day or two.
Before an internship begins, the student must develop a proposal that describes the setting and goals of the Field Internship including the total time commitment. Normally, this proposal is done with you, the Field Internship representative. This is the form that the student must complete prior to starting the position: Download BFAPhotoFieldInternship.pdf (62.6K)
Because our pool of internship candidates is modest (generally fewer than five at any given time) we can't guarantee placement. The more incentives you can offer a potential intern, the more likely you are to fill a position.
TIME COMMITMENT
A three credit internship must equal at least 10 hours per week for a full semester (13 weeks). One and two credit internships are possible (with a commensurate reduction in time; 86 and 43 hours respectively). Internships can occur at any time during the year so long as they meet the total required number of hours per credit. Summer internships are the most common and popular.
