Aim of Bracket Circuit Racing (BCR)
-use the fastest lap of a driver to calculate the consistency of their racing pace, ie how well they hold their pace throughout the race.
-There is to be an individual BCRS (Bracket Circuit Racing Score) for each driver's performance in the race, the only constant being the driver and the racetrack. (the score represents their performance)
- This is to allow multiple drivers in varying performance cars to battle for the best Bracket Circuit Racing Score on that track; Being the fastest, most consistent driver regardless of what they drive.
-Spec Racing, Class Races, Classic races, Endurance, Sprints, Amateur vs. Professional Teams, etc.
-Can be calculated for any race involving laps on a circuit.
-Is best used to find the best driver even if the aren't capable of being the fastest. (Making the most of their car) The racer doesn't even have to win the race to prove their skill.
Layout
-the fastest lap of the driver's race sets thier goal. (will update throughout the race as their fastest lap improves) The goal being to stay close to, or improve on their fastest lap.
-The Lower the number in the BCRS column (or BCRGS for Grace laps *see below*) represents the skill of the driver at being consistently fast. Closest to Zero wins if scores are being compared.
-To simplify: The closer your lap times are to your fastest lap at the end of the race, the better your score.
Grace Laps
-The difficulty can be changed by the amount of laps that count: slowest laps are excluded. (to account for pit stops-in/out laps, accidental incidents, etc.)
ex. a 50 lap race
-(20%) 40 fastest laps out of 50 count (10 Grace Laps)
-(10%) 45 fastest laps out of 50 count (5 Grace Laps = Harder)
-etc.
-this component can be overlooked for hardest difficulty (No Grace Laps, just BCRS)
-In Spec racing there must have at least one lap to use for Grace laps
-ex 70 lap race, 10% grace must finish 63 of 70 laps or DQ for scoring
-In multi-class racing this is split between classes instead (but following the same rules)
-Or there is no DQ at all (if agreed upon), you recieve Grace laps based on how many laps were finished. -ex. 70 Laps Raced, 10% grace, 63x10%=6.3 ∴ 6 laps of GRACE
*This form is built for a maximum of 10 laps and 5 Grace laps.*
