The OYL International Residency is an active outdoors program, taking place in remote regions of each country, involving rigorous training. Please answer the following questions. Please note that all applicants will be invited to a one-on-one zoom session with OYL leadership during which we can answer any questions about the day-to-day of the program. Once applicants are accepted into the program OYL will also issue a detailed survey to help us plan all activities and create supportive community practices.
9. On a scale of 1-5 (with 5 being the most resilient), how would you rate your emotional resilience in stressful situations? Please feel free to offer any narrative.
10. Accommodations vary widely in OYL’s International Residencies and can range from spartan dormitories with 6-7 people sharing a room and bathroom, to bed-and-breakfast settings with 2 to 3 people in a room and anything in between. Beds can vary from tatami mattresses to bunkbeds. On a scale of 1-5 (with 5 being the most comfortable), how comfortable are you with sharing living and bathroom spaces with up to 7 other people in a variety of situations? Please provide any relevant narrative.

12. All meals during the OYL Residency are family style and are local cuisines, often with limited options. OYL is diligent to work around all allergies and food restrictions and will be asking you specifically about those once accepted. We guarantee there will always be plenty of food but options may be limited in terms of cuisine. On a scale of 1-5 (with 5 being the most comfortable), how willing are you to try different local cuisines and have limited options at times? Please provide any relevant narrative.
