Always check with your veterinarian to help determine what vaccines are appropriate for your foal. Variations in this protocol may be required based on region of the country and risk of exposure. All foals should be administered an enema at the time of foaling and have their navel dipped with dilute chlorhexidine. At 24 hrs they should have an Igg and CBC performed along with a physical examination by a veterinarian. Most foals are weaned between 4-6 months.
