    Thank you for your interest in Hope Chapel's intern program! Hope Chapel is a Christian, inter-denominational church with a mission to share the love of Jesus with the people of Maui that all may know and glorify God. Each year we select 12 single, college-age interns (19-26) who will be assigned to a ministry overseer whose gifts and talents compliment theirs. Our internship program will cover comprehensive exposure to all areas of ministry throughout the year. We believe that there is power in prayer, as you fill out this application we encourage you to pray through your answers and for the ministries at Hope Chapel during this process. 

    Once you begin, the application page will not time out as long as you keep your browser window open and remain connected to the Internet. You can use any browser to fill out your application except for Windows Explorer (Please use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari), otherwise, we may not receive your application. We recommend using a computer to fill out your application, as some of the questions have pull-down answers that are not accessible on mobile devices.

    To complete your application, we also require two reference letters in PDF form, please have these ready to upload. See the references section for general guidelines. Both references will also be sent a separate questionnaire from us, which they will need to fill out before the interview process. Be in touch with your references to ensure that this is completed.

    • Each intern will receive a $400 monthly stipend for personal living expenses (such as food, recreational activities, and miscellaneous spending money). On-campus housing, including utilities, is provided. Each intern will also be responsible for airfare to/from Maui, as well as health insurance coverage for the duration of their internship.     • Interns share a room in three bedroom condominiums on church property—one condo for male interns, one for female interns. If accepted for this 12-month internship program, are you able to live in a dorm-like situation?*

    • We believe it is our responsibility to build a team that is able to provide healthy, safe & nurturing relationships. The purpose of the next few questions are to help us get to know you better and your answers will not keep you from being a part of the internship program. 

    • While a part of this program, will you commit to refrain from activities that could cause another believer to stumble, such as abusing prescription drugs, consuming alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs, getting tattoos, or any social or sexual activity that would bring into question your intentions or your character?*

    • A significant portion of your time as an intern is spent working with your overseer and others in your particular area. One of the most important decisions is choosing which area you'll be working in. Please see the intern brochure on our website for an overview of each position if you haven't already.
