KBOO Community Radio is hosting a talent show as part of it's annual Membership Drive and Fundraiser.
Hosted by the sensational KBOO Late Night Talk Radio Host of The Confessional, Contessa de la Luna, this family friendly event is sure to entertain and provide lasting memories for years to come. It may prove to be the highlight of one's existence, or at least a turning point, possibly a milestone, or just a really good time.
The talent show is open to singers, dancers, comedians, rappers, spoken word artists and musicians ages 18 and older. Amateur performances of all styles are welcome.
Audition Dates: (required to perform in show)
Sunday, January 25th, 2015 (Noon-3pm) or,
Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 (6-8 pm)
Show Date: Thursday February 12, 2015, 7:00 PM -10 PM,
Show Location: Clinton Street Theatre, 2522 Southeast Clinton Street, Portland, OR 97202

All tickets are $10. There is no fee to perform in the talent show but this is a fundraiser for KBOO Community Radio and we ask that all participants and their guests purchase a ticket in advance or the night of in support of the station and The Confessional with Contessa de la Luna. No one turned away from the show for lack of funds.
Rules and Regulations:
-Auditions are mandatory.
-If an applicant cannot attend the live audition, s/he must submit a video OR mp3 (DVD, CD, or YouTube). DVDs and CDs may be submitted at KBOO COMMUNITY RADIO, 20 SE 8TH AVENUE, PORTLAND OR 97214.. or include a link to a YouTube video in the "Performance Description" section below. CD's/DVD's may not be returned.
-Not all who audition can be guaranteed a spot in the show. You will be notified 10 days in advance of the show whether you are accepted into the show or not. You will be notified by email and phone.
-Performance may not exceed 10 minutes. We are providing some music equipment (amps/mics/keyboard/guitar) (this includes set-up and break down)
-Decisions about final act selections will be determined by the show producers and crew. All decisions are final.
-Final act line-up will be selected only from those who have auditioned in person or by video/url submission.
-We will post final show line-up on the KBOO web site 10 days prior to the actual live program.
-No animals on stage.
-No liquids on stage. (this includes bodily fluids-No)
-No pyrotechnics or open flames.
-All auditions should avoid profanity and humiliating language.
-Pre-recorded music or vocals must be on a thumb drive or send a dropbox link where we can download. If you need to use a CD bring it to the radio station c/0 Monica Beemer - Talent Show
-We cannot provide a boom box. We can play your track from a computer from a thumb drive.
-You must be able to set up, perform and break down your act in a total of 10 minutes.
-Auditions are mandatory. There are no rehersals.
-We are pleased to have a panel of celebrity judges including Courtney Von Drehl from 3-Leg Torso, Troubadour Dusty Santamaria, Entertainer Lavendar Mimosa and Zia McCabe from Brush Praire/Dandy Warhols.
-There is a $100 Cash Grand Prize
-There are prizes for best of each category. These prizes are not cash but may include tickets to events, concerts or other prizes.
-Audience applause will be considered when judging each act so be sure to bring all your friends and family to the show!

Q: How will I know what my audition time is?
A: Please select your audition date below. Auditions are first come first to audition. Auditions are held in the back studio at KBOO 20 SE 8th Avenue, Portland, OR 97214. Arrive during the window below and sign in.
Q: At the show, once I arrive and sign in, how will the judges determine when I will perform?
A: First come, first serve, unless the producer decides to place you ahead or behind another act. We will keep you informed about what's what, once the acts are selected.
Q: Where will auditions be held?
A:KBOO Community Radio, 20 SE 8th Avenue, Portland, OR 97214
Q: Who will be judging the auditions?
A: The producer of the event and a couple cast members from previous shows.
Q: How many acts will be part of the talent show?
A: It depends on how many applications we receive, and which acts are selected. The show goes from 7-10:00 p.m.
Q: Will all performers who audition be part of the formal show on February 12, 2015?
A: Not necessarily. Some acts may not make it into the show. Auditioning does not gurarentee a place in the show. No guarentees are made as a result of applying or auditioning. You may audition and not be selected to perform.
Q: How will performers be notified whether they have made it into the show?
A: Performers will be notified by phone and email. Be sure to provide information in the form where we can reach you or leave a message. We will also notify you if you are not selected.
Q: Are there any commitments other than the audition and the show?

Q: What time do I need to be at the show?
A: YOU MUST SIGN IN AS A PERFORMER BY 6:30 pm.
Q: Is it free to be in the show?
A: It is free to perform in the talent show, however there is a $10 ticket fee for everyone at the show whether they are an audience member or a performer.
This is a benefit, a fundraiser for KBOO Community Radio. (all performers and cast members are encouraged to buy a ticket as this is a fundraiser for your community radio station)
