  • Liability & Indemnity Declaration

    In consideration of acceptance of my/our application and permission to participate in England’s Medieval Festival (EMF) – King’s Grove, taking place at Pippingford Park on 29, 30 & 31 August 2026, including associated set-up and breakdown periods (the “Festival”), I/we acknowledge and agree as follows: I/We understand that participation in the Festival includes inherently hazardous and high-risk activities, including but not limited to staged combat, foot fighting, skirmishes, re-enactment battles, siege demonstrations, use of blunted steel and period weapons, archery, pyrotechnics, black powder discharge, mounted cavalry and equestrian displays, construction and operation of encampments and siege equipment, public workshops, and the use of armour, tools, animals, props, and historical equipment. I/We acknowledge that these activities involve risks of serious bodily injury, permanent disability, property damage, fire, animal-related incidents, and death. I/We voluntarily and knowingly assume all such risks, whether arising from my/our own acts or omissions, the acts of other participants, equipment failure, animal behaviour, environmental or ground conditions, fire or explosive discharge, spectator proximity, or any other foreseeable or unforeseeable cause. I/We confirm that I/we possess the appropriate training, skill, and competence to participate safely and will comply with all Festival rules, safety protocols, and instructions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I/we release and discharge England’s Medieval Festival Ltd, EMF Events, EMF – Kings Grove, Pippingford Estate Co Ltd, the Estate owners, all festival organisers, contractors, suppliers, staff, volunteers, officials, sponsors, and associated parties from any claims, losses, damages, or liabilities arising out of or in connection with my/our participation in the Festival. Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of England and Wales. I/We agree to indemnify and hold harmless the aforementioned parties from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, or costs arising from my/our acts or omissions, breach of Festival rules, damage caused by me/us or members of my/our group, or injury to third parties arising from combat, siege activities, weapons handling, pyrotechnics, black powder discharge, mounted cavalry, animal incidents, or interactive public demonstrations conducted by me/us or my/our group. Participants under 18 years of age may attend only with written parental or legal guardian consent and may not participate in combat, siege activities, black powder discharge, pyrotechnics, mounted cavalry, or any other high-risk activity as determined by the Festival organisers.

  • Insurance Coverage Requirements

    I/We confirm that, on behalf of myself/ourselves that I/we hold and will maintain valid Archery Shooting and Public Liability Insurance for the full duration of our participation in the archery competition, any siege / battle / demonstrations or any other display at the Festival at England’s Medieval Festival – King’s Grove, taking place 29, 30 & 31 August 2026 including the entire period of attendance and all set-up and breakdown periods at Pippingford Park, East Sussex ; or I/ we will purchase this coverage on the day from the archery competition organisers. I/We agree to provide a valid insurance certificate upon request and understand that failure to maintain appropriate insurance may result in refusal to participate and/or removal from the Festival site.

  • Photography & Media Consent

    I/We acknowledge and agree that England's Medieval Festival (EMF - Kings Grove), its owners and organisers, may photograph and/or record video footage of me/us and our group members, including all living history activities, displays, performances, and involvement in the Festival, including associated set-up and breakdown periods. I/We grant England's Medieval Festival (EMF - Kings Grove), and its owners and organisers, a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, edit, adapt, and display such photographs and/or video recordings for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to advertising, marketing, promotional, archival, documentary, and commercial purposes, in any media now known or later developed, without further consent, notification, or compensation. I/We acknowledge that any photographs or video footage taken by me/us or our group members at England's Medieval Festival (EMF - Kings Grove), including associated set-up and breakdown periods, may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Any commercial photography or filming at the Festival, including associated set-up and breakdown periods, for any commercial use, licensing, sale, distribution, or external third-party promotional use of such images or footage (including social media pages, groups, or organisations), requires prior written approval from the organisers of England's Medieval Festival (EMF - Kings Grove). I/We confirm that I/we have the authority to agree to these terms on behalf of all members of our group. This agreement survives the conclusion of the Festival.
