Guidelines for Campaigning
Rules for Elected Positions: President & Executive Vice President of GSGA
● Candidates may spend no more than $50.00 to campaign. They must
submit upon request a signed report of expenses to the GSGA Executive
Financial Administrator by February 6th, 2024. Candidates who exceed
the limit shall not be eligible for office, per the decision of the GSGA
Advisor.
● Each candidate is responsible for making sure that his/her materials are
removed from public view at the conclusion of elections. Although not an
exhaustive list, this includes approved flyers, posters, digital signage, etc.
Candidates who fail to comply may be disqualified from the election, per
the decision of the GSGA Advisor.
● All campaigning must be done in accordance with the rules of Greenville
University. The Student Handbook has the rules for posting flyers around
campus.
Interviews
● To ensure that each candidate has the same guaranteed opportunity to
engage the student body:
● Short videos will be produced by the appropriate current GSGA Cabinet
members in collaboration with each candidate to allow for a consistent and
fair campaign opportunity to each candidate.
● These videos will be distributed to the student body through GSGA social
media profiles as well as a general, all-student email sent out in advance
of the election.
● The videos will be one to two minutes long and include an interview with
prepared questions and answers, covering everything from personality and
biography, to policy and campus leadership.
● These interviews will be scheduled and administered by the current GSGA
President upon submission of an application for the elected offices.
