Revenue Canada requires you to hire your caregiver as an Employee. The caregiver is entitled to statutory holidays and vacation pay. You are responsible for deducting and paying the Nanny's CPP, EI and tax contributions monthly. You must also pay the Employer's portion of CPP and EI, which is not taken from the Nanny's salary. You must issue the Caregiver a T4 at the end of year, as per the Canada Revenue Agency.
