  • This scholarship is valued at $500. It is available to a student who will be a full-time graduate or undergraduate student in the Fall 2018 semester, majoring or minoring in Bilingual/Bicultural Education. The applicant should demonstrate a sincere commitment and dedication to this profession. The deadline for completed applications is APRIL 12, 2019. The recipient will be honored at the Western Illinois University Foundation Scholars’ Recognition Ceremony in the fall.  The selection committee will include a currently enrolled student in Bilingual/Bicultural Education or an alumnus of the Bilingual/Bicultural Education Program, a member of the Kersting family, and a faculty member from the Department of Educational Studies.  WIU is an AA/EI employer and has a strong institutional commitment to diversity.     One University Circle Western Illinois UniversityMacomb, IL 61455  To apply for this scholarship: 1) Complete the form on page two with your information. 2) On page three, list the names of two faculty members who will support your application by submitting recommendation letters.  3) On page four, list the courses you have taken in your major and minor, including the final grade you received in each course listed. 4) On page five, attach a statement of your academic interests, activities which you are involved both on and off campus, work experience, and plans for the future.

Please ask each faculty member to submit a letter of recommendation to the Chairperson of the EIS Scholarship Committee, ES Department, Horrabin Hall 115. You are responsible for following up to make sure letters of recommendation are turned in on time.
