2024 Woman of Distinction Nomination Form

Please note: Nominations for the 2024 event close December 31, 2023 at 11:59pm.

Nominations received January 1, 2024 or later will be considered for the 2025 event.
Objectives of the Women of Distinction Awards Event:
1. To honor women from the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio council service area who go above and beyond to make our communities better places to live and work.
2. To highlight these women, who embody the core values of Girl Scouts and provide girls with positive role models.
3. To benefit Girl Scouts of North East Ohio by raising funds to support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience for girls throughout our 18-county footprint.

If you are nominating a fantastic Girl Scout volunteer, for the wonderful work they have done in support of the girls and GSNEO, please look at the award options at gsneo.org/recognitions, where there are nine (9) different awards tailored to recognize and honor amazing volunteers.

The GSNEO Volunteer awards are likely a better fit for recognizing those who generously serve as troop leaders, service unit leaders, and more.
Nomination Instructions

The Selection Committee will consider nominations of women who have contributed to the community through professional, family and/or personal endeavors.

Nominations will be reviewed anonymously by the Selection Committee and the Honorees will be notified in February of 2024. If they are selected, your candidate will be included in the event program.

Nominators may watch for the public announcement (website, social media) from GSNEO to find out who was selected as an honoree; announcement to be made in February 2024. Individual notifications will not be sent to nominators.

Nominators are allowed to re-nominate candidates in subsequent years if their candidate is not chosen.

The 2024 Women of Distinction Awards Event will be held in spring 2024.

- Assume that the submitted nomination is the only information used to make a decision. Decisions are made on the written information provided. Nominations are presented for review anonymously, with the name of the individual removed.
- Describe the whole person. Knowing how well she does her job is important, but it is only part of the picture of why your nominee deserves to be honored.
- Consider whether you want to share the nomination with the nominee at any point. Many times nominees are pleasantly surprised by what is written about them.
- Include items which share wonderful things, *without sharing a name. Suggest, summarizing articles, videos, websites, etc. Feel free to include what publication, website, or news agency, featured the article/video/interview, the article title, and a summary of the content. Since nominations are made anonymous, *links will be removed, where linking to a source includes an identifying name.
