Non Tax Filers:
Student was employed but did not file with the IRS
Will need to submit a copy of the Student's W-2 Tax form.
Will need a completed Verification Form.
Will need Parent's IRS Tax Return Transcripts.
There are multiple options available to obtain a copy of your Parent's IRS Tax Return Transcripts. The most convenient method is using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to directly link your FAFSA application with the IRS. If you are unable to link your information through FAFSA, you may choose one of these methods available:
If a Dependent Student was not employed or was not required to file Taxes with the IRS, the parents are still required to submit their taxes information. If both the parent and student were not employed and did not file taxes with the IRS, they will be required to submit evidence of how they were supported financially throughout the year. Required information may include social security disability information, food stamps records, etc.
The verification process cannot be completed until the IRS tax return transcript and the verification worksheet have been submitted. Please complete and sign the required forms and submit them to the Student Finance Office as soon as possible, so that your financial aid is not delayed.
We prefer you submit all of your verification documents together in one package. If you completed the verification form and have your tax documents, you may fax them to (423-236-1894). This is a secure fax line available only to the student finance office.
