How did you hear about the River Thames Boat Project

Under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, persons working/volunteering with children, or vulnerable adults must disclose all previous convictions including those which, for other purposes, would be defined as “spent”. Failure to do so could result in ending the voluntary arrangement with the River Thames Boat Project. A criminal record and its disclosure does not necessarily debar you from volunteering and all information given will be treated as confidential. If the answer is “yes” you must give details which may, if you wish, be enclosed in a separate sealed letter marked “Confidential” and attached to your application. Any information given will be completely confidential and will be considered only in relation to an application for a voluntary post to which the order applies. The object of this Notice is not in any way to reflect upon an applicants’ integrity, but is necessary to protect the public and the Charity. Have you ever been convicted of a criminal offence?

Successful applicants will be required to abide by all Boat Project Policies and procedures which includes a Child and Vulnerable Protection Policy. A Disclosure and Barring Service Disclosure may be required for some volunteering roles.

HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK ACT All volunteers have the same rights and responsibilities as workers and employees under the terms of the Act, and will be required to read the Boat Project’s Health & Safety Policy and agree to abide by it.

DECLARATION OF CONFIDENTIALITY I understand that I may receive information of a confidential nature while volunteering for the River Thames Boat Project. I agree not to disclose any such information to unauthorised persons during my voluntary work for the charity and after my volunteering ends.

I agree not to take any photographs or video while volunteering unless specifically asked to do so by River Thames Boat Project staff for the benefit of the charity and only give those photographs or video to River Thames Boat Project staff. I agree to my picture being taken and used in publicity material.
