Terms of Adoption

Agreement and consent: All of the information I have provided on this form is true and complete. I have read and agree to the NGWPR Terms of Adoption:

Any unaltered dog placed with me will be spayed or neutered within 30 days or by a date agreed upon by a representative of the GWPCA or NGWPR.

This dog will reside with us primarily as a pet/companion. I will provide it with adequate food, water, indoor shelter, training, and medical care.

If at any time it is impossible for me to keep said dog, I agree that this dog will not be transferred to another person or family member, placed in shelter care or taken to any animal control facility. I agree to immediately notify the NGWPR rescue coordinator and said dog will be returned to NGWPR or will be transferred to an authorized agent of NGWPR.

I understand this dog is not being placed as a hunting dog. Any hunting ability is strictly a "bonus" and is not required as a condition of adoption.

I am aware that any transportation costs are the responbility of the adopter.

We do not recommend placing any rescue Wirehair in a home with small dogs or house cats due to their strong prey drive. This is a breed characteristic. Placement of dogs in a home with children is on a case by case basis only.

I have read and understand the German Wirehaired Pointer breed standard and description which is available on the GWPCA website. I understand that the NGWPR is a referral service and is NOT responsible for the accuracy of information received about the habits, temperament, or physical condition of dogs for adoption. I understand that it is my responsibility to see and

evaluate the dog for myself before agreeing to adopt it. All costs for out of state transportation will be paid for by the adopter.

The GWPCA or NGWPR and/or any rescue representative of the GWPCA or NGWPR is in no way liable or responsible for any damage, accident or injury resulting from the placement of a German Wirehaired Pointer into your household.
